We don't go local as often as we'd like, but this time it is worth it. The UCF Knights knocked off their second straight top 10 team, beating fourth-ranked Florida State 1-0 at home.
The Knights beat the 'Noles on a 105th minute goal from Courtney Whidden in front of a record crowd of 1,142 fans.
This is big time UCF fans. The Knights beat then-tenth-ranked Duke last week after falling to top-ranked North Carolina.
Whidden talked about the win in the official press release:
I knew we could do it. This team has worked so hard and finally we are getting recognition. We are showing everybody that we need to be ranked. We got what we deserved tonight.
It does seem time to have the Knights ranked after their strong start to the season. You can check them out on Sunday against USF at 1 p.m.
